Grief and Mourning Sharing Circle (for anyone grieving a loss) - March 21, at noon (Eastern), 2024
LAT Grads Michael Deloughery and Nancy Voogd are facilitating this group as part of the Restoring Resourcefulness program. The focus of the Sharing Circle is to offer a safe container that honors the unique experience of grief each of us has. We will share our experiences and insights in a context of wholeness. We will explore familiar practices like breathing and whole body listening in the context of grieving and mourning. Katie often speaks of the value of balancing experience and expression. Grief is the wide range of experiences after a loss. Mourning is you expressing those feelings and sensations of grief.
Details:
This Sharing Circle is open to anyone who is grieving any loss or losses. Nancy and Michael will facilitate these groups 4 times in 2024. This is the first. Registration for the class is found here: https://foundationforconsciousliving.org/big_leap_bridge/

Books
Seven Thousand Ways to Listen Mark Nepo - He examines his journey to becoming the best listener possible and provides helpful exercises throughout the book.
Just Listen: Discover the Secret to Getting Through to Absolutely Anyone [Hardcover] Mark Goulston M.D. (Author), Keith Ferrazzi (Foreword) - This book is a real gem. Lots of practical advice and keen insight, especially about how our brains work and what our spirits want.
The Lost Art of Listening, Second Edition: How Learning to Listen Can Improve Relationships [Paperback] Michael P. Nichols PhD (Author) I enjoyed the material on how early developmental experiences affect our listening and need to be heard. Lots of great quotes.
Communing with Music (Practicing the Art of Conscious Listening) Matthew Cantello - This book was a gift from a dear friend (Kathy Kuscan) who is a master listener and artist with sound. Matthew writes beautifully and offers ways to listen with your whole being.
